Payable to each eligible registered person for up to 50 nights for elderly and 50 nights for mental illness from first registration, but not for more than 40 nights in a 12 month period. Increased Benefit Should a contributor and spouse/partner be inpatients at the same time (in the same or a different hospital), the contributor and not the dependant rate of hospital benefit will be paid for both for the appropriate number of nights.
